Class Descriptions
Each class will be offered for a maximum of ten participants in each class.
Belly Dance Level I- Class
begins with a short full body warm up, increasing strength and
flexibility. Through slow beginning movements, learn to isolate arm,
upper and lower body movements. Drills and combinations across the
floor, we will focus on technique, posture, and enjoyment. Gain basic
knowledge of this diverse and exciting dance form aiding in a strong
and healthy mind and body. Please
wear exercise clothes with either a tank top or sports bra and a hip
scarf for accents.
Belly Dance Level II - Build
upon the Level I of Belly Dance with a more intense workout and delve
into deeper into the structures of movements. Choreography as well as
costume advice and beginner student performances may be involved. Great
fun while promoting a trim mid-section!! Please wear exercise clothes
with either a tank top or sports bra and a hip scarf for accents.
Combined Yoga Levels - Fundamental
yoga combined with a twist of some optional challenging sequences. If you
are ready to move things up a little notch in your life, then come
enjoy new or familiar realms of moving that body!
Fundamental Yoga - Ease
into Yoga through breath awareness and basic poses. Individual
attention is emphasized to ensure body alignment and enhanced
breathwork. Loosen your body to allow a greater infusion of
tranquility. This mindful approach yields calm energy and an open sensation of being. Great for beginners.
Restorative Yoga - With
gentle stretches and the use of props through well-supported poses,
this class will provide the opportunity to soothe and rejuvenate the
body by lingering quietly in different restorative
positions…bring your blankets (props) and prepare to relax! 20
minutes of this type of relaxation is equivalent to a 4-hour nap!
Yin Yoga Workshop - Yin
Yoga is a unique form of yoga that incorporates traditional yoga poses.
It differs in that these postures are held passively and statically for
longer periods of time. There are many benefits to this form of
practicing. Physically it works to lubricate the joints of the body
increasing health and mobility. Energetically it acts much like an
acupuncture treatment helping to free up energy blocks to the organs
and systems of the body. Yin yoga is a personal journey that is intense
yet profoundly relaxing.
Prior yoga experience helpful.
